Dear Pudjence
Dear diary,
Yesterday was my first encounter with 'being pregnant' in public. It was your usual Friday. Wake up early AM, roll my old bones to the gym, do my duty. This time, however, was not like the others.
Upon arriving i stood at the counter so that the attendant could swipe my card. standing with him was a trainer that i see every time i visit (a very lovely middle aged man, kind, good physique -- ladies. he's single!). i was wearing my normal grubbies, soccer shorts, a fitted white t. we met eyes. his eyes moved down to my stomach. his eyes returned to their original position. he looked at me awkwardly and i said, 'yes i am.'
he replied, 'oh good! i thought so, but i didn't want to me rude.'
'how did you know?'
'i'm a trainer. i'm paid to know these things. congratulations.'
i was amazed. i thought the slight pooch would just be diagnosed as chubs and that the public would move on. now that professionals can tell, when will the laymen?
i'm thinking i should eventually tell my coworkers.
