one advantage of this brutal recession is cheap(er) airfare. carlos, maya and i packed our bags and headed to orange county to indulge in some family time.
with a little assistance from uncle carlos, the hedge was no match for master maya's prowess

air maya. i didn't notice how high she was jumping until reviewing these photos.

a visit to orange county would be incomplete without a trip to disneyland! we spent the entire day introducing maya to rides she'd never ridden or characters she had yet to see in person.
we started out the day at it's a small world. maya was hypnotized and now sings the tune over and over.
maya refers to things that are sneezing at the end of this movie. she's actually referring to these ladies... she thinks that their veils are tissues and that they're suffering from allergies. i kid you not.

next was a visit with mickey and minnie mouse. clearly mickey is the bread winner because he not only had a house, but a garden and a barn. minnie only had a house. it's a cheese ceiling!
maya was in awe and repeatedly touched their noses.

uncle eddie was the scariest attraction of all (just kidding, ed. you know we love you!)
\the rest of the week was spent hanging out with family and friends.

we had such a wonderful time! thanks to everyone and can't wait to see you again.
on a side note, i had some deep sleep that can only happen when you're in your childhood home. ah, the rejuvenation!

excellent demonic photography of the South Coast Carousel
How fun! I'm so glad you were able to fit in a trip to Disneyland. The part about the sneezing ladies was hilarious! And your comment on the cheese ceiling was brilliant!
More abstract thinking with the sneezing ladies - genius!
I always look forward to your vacay pics from the OC! So fun! Maya's pigtails are adorable.
Uncle Car is looking buff! nice guns.
